Once your account is deleted, this action cannot be undone. All your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Please ensure you have backed up any important information before proceeding.

How to Request Account Deletion

Follow these steps to request deletion of your BuildTrust account:

In your email, please include:
- Your registered email address
- Your full name (as registered in the app)
- Confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account
- Optional: Reason for deletion (helps us improve)
Verify Your Identity
We may ask you to verify your identity to ensure the request is legitimate. This protects your account from unauthorized deletion requests.
Receive Confirmation
You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours acknowledging your deletion request.
Account Deletion Completed
Your account and associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. You will receive a final confirmation email once the deletion is complete.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

What Data May Be Retained

For legal, security, and operational purposes, some data may be retained for a limited period:

Note: After 90 days, all backup copies and transaction logs will also be permanently deleted. Anonymized analytics data cannot be linked back to you and does not contain any personally identifiable information.

Deletion Timeline

Day 0: You submit your account deletion request via email

Within 48 hours: We send you a confirmation email acknowledging your request

Day 1-3: Your account is immediately deactivated. You can no longer log in or access the app

Day 1-30: Your data is permanently deleted from our production systems

Within 30 days: You receive a final confirmation email that your account and data have been permanently deleted

Day 30-90: Backup copies and transaction logs are automatically purged from backup systems

Impact on Shared Projects

Important: Projects with Other Users

If you are a member of projects created by other users or have shared your projects with others:

Projects you own: All projects you created will be permanently deleted along with all associated data (images, expenses, documents)
Projects you joined: Your membership will be removed, but the projects created by others will remain intact
Data you contributed: Content you added to other users' projects (comments, progress updates) may remain visible as "Deleted User"

Recommendation: Before deleting your account, consider transferring project ownership or downloading important data.

Consider these alternatives before permanently deleting your account:

Download Your Data: Contact us to request a copy of your data before deletion
Take a Break: Simply stop using the app without deleting your account
Transfer Projects: Transfer ownership of important projects to another user

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I reactivate my account after deletion?

No. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. You will need to create a new account if you wish to use BuildTrust again.

How long does the deletion process take?

Your account will be deactivated immediately upon approval of your request. Complete data deletion from all systems takes up to 30 days, with backup data removed within 90 days.

Can I download my data before deletion?

Yes. Please request a data export before submitting your deletion request. Contact us at info@saarahbuildtech.com with the subject "Data Export Request".

What happens to projects I shared with others?

Projects you created will be deleted. Projects created by others that you were a member of will remain, but your membership will be removed.

Will my email address be available for re-registration?

After 90 days, once all data including backups are purged, your email address will be available for use with a new account.

Can I cancel a deletion request?

Yes, but only if the deletion has not yet been processed. Contact us immediately at info@saarahbuildtech.com if you change your mind.
